Gurujram: The meeting of the Gurudram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) was held at PWD Rest House on Wednesday evening. Chief Minister Manohar Lal presided over the meeting. In this, budget proposals of Rs 1443 crore for the financial year 2019-20 were approved.
At the meeting, the work was reviewed for the last one-and-a-half years. In addition to the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Secretary V. Umashankar presenting the budget proposals of 2019-20, said that out of the budget proposals of Rs. 1443 crores, the amount of approximately Rs. 508 crores will be spent on ongoing upgradation projects. For the smart city projects, a provision of Rs 90 crore has been made, which includes Integrated Command and Control Center, Traffic Management System and Centralized Integrated Water Management System.
In the Smart City Initiative, Gurujram is not only ranked first in Haryana but it is also in first place in North India. Nearly 600 kms of optical fiber will be laid in Gururgram, out of which 105 kilometer long optical fiber cable has been laid. For the Gurugram Mahanagar City Bus Limited, the construction of the bus station in Sector-10, footover bridge, the improvement of intersections and other works are included.
In addition to the development of green belt and parks, the amount of Rs 23 crore raised under CSR will be spent on developing the reservoir in Wazirabad. An amount of approximately 535 crores has been fixed for the development of infrastructure which will be received by the EDC. An amount of approximately Rs. 86.95 crore has been fixed for the operation and maintenance of roads. An amount of Rs. 208 crores has been fixed for drinking water supply, sewerage, drainage and water re-bicycling. Flower Market approved for 11.41 acres of land in Sector-52A was approved. Also, Center for Excellence was approved. Discussion on metro expansion
The meeting discussed the metro expansion in the old Gururgram area. It was informed that the allocation of the Metro from Huda City Center Metro Station to Krishna Chowk has been approved by the State Government. The route from Krishna Chowk to Delhi-Jaipur Highway has also been approved. DPR has also been prepared which has been approved by the Board of Directors of Haryana Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Limited. This line will be linked with both Metro ie DMRC and Rapid Metro. The Chief Minister said that a special meeting should be convened separately to discuss the expansion of the metro.
